The growing medium is the inert substrate that replaces the soil (unless it is soil based of course!) and is required to allow healthy root growth and add support to the vegetative growth. What you chose is down to the system you use and personal choice. Remember that any goodness in the soil or compost you use will be finished within a short time so what ever you use (soil or not) you will always need to feed the plants as they grow older. Make your own soil mixture: (100lt) ¥ 50% potting soil or Coco-Mix (50lt) ¥ 30% Perlite (30lt) ¥ 15% BIOBIZZ high quality worm manure (15lt) ¥ 5% Pre-Mix (5lt).You could also add some Bat Guano for extra flavour.
